It’s today! 100 young leaders meet Prof. Attahiru Jega courtesy of EbonyLife TV

Africa’s first Global Black Entertainment and Lifestyle network, EbonyLife TV, is set to host 100 young leaders to an exclusive meeting with Professor Attahiru Jega, Chairman Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Wheatbaker Hotel, in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Invited guests are drawn from a selective pool of leading young professionals from various occupational sectors, and they will be conversing with Jega about his experience as Nigeria's most powerful electoral official.

The meet will be moderated by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, a co-host of the highly rated The Spot on EbonyLife TV and host of Nigeria's most watched youth-oriented television show, Rubbin’ Minds.

"It is important for young Nigerians to ask questions; the Nigerian youth were a big part of the last general elections,” said Mo Abudu, Executive Chairman and CEO of EbonyLife TV.  “We want Nigeria's future leaders to grasp not only the importance of the elections and its ramifications for the country, but to begin to build upon it by truly understanding the legacy left by Professor Jega,” she concluded.

Foreign media drags Nigeria's female team coach, Edwin Okon...

After Nigeria lost to the United States 1–0 in a Group D Women’s World Cup match on Tuesday night, Falcon coach Edwin Okon apparently refused to shake hands with American coach Jill Ellis.

Now he's being dragged by foreign media. I saw one in particular titled 'Meet Nigeria's handshake snubbing, no scouting, all praying embarrassment of a coach" which I found hilarious...though a little disrespectful which was published on Slate. Read after the cut...

Man kills police officer, then 'commits suicide by cop' after leaving last post on Facebook

A 21-year-old man from Cincinnati named Trepierre Hummons (pictured left) fatally shot Sonny Kim, 48 (pictured right) after posting on Facebook that he loved all of his friends and family and thecalled 911 on himself.

Tre twice called the police, telling them that a man with a gun was acting erratically & then described himself in the conversation. The first person to respond to the call was officer Kim, Tre then shot him dead.

Other before officers got to the scene and Tre engaged them in a gun fight. He was shot dead by other officers.

Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell told a news conference on Friday that;
'The suspect posted on Facebook just prior to the shooting and sent several text messages to friends indicating, or demonstrating, that he was planning suicide by cop,' Blackwell said.

'I love every last one of y'all to whoever has been in my life .... You're the real mvp,' Hummons posted before calling 911 yesterday.
In the call, the young man is heard speaking frantically about a 'belligerent' young man 'in his early twenties' with a gun in his waistband. He described himself as short and when asked about the man's race he replies 'a black man, of course'.
Hummons's mother arrived on the scene right before Kim did, and tried to keep her son away from the police officer before the young man started firing.
Kim, who was wearing a bullet resistant vest, was shot multiple times by responding officers, Blackwell said.
Hummons was said to have fired on a county probation officer who came to Kim's aid and then wrestled Kim's service weapon from him while he was lying wounded in the street.

The suspect's mother reportedly attended to Kim as he laid on the ground dying. Her son then used the officer's weapon to fire at a third officer, Tom Sandmann, who ended the gunfight by shooting the young man, Blackwell said.

Kim was taken along with Hummons to a local hospital where both were pronounced dead.
Blackwell said Hummons' mother told them he had been having recent troubles with a girlfriend and was not behaving like himself.

'If you want to kill yourself, do it, but you can't take one of our men with you,' Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley said. 'There is a deep injustice when people believe they can shoot at police officers.'

Dubai in Nigeria

Pazino ECC invites you to invest and get your stake in highly viable dry lands located in a wonderful landscape and absolutely free of land grabbers aka Omo-Nile and Government interference.

The future of Lagos Real Estate is here and it lies in Ibeju-Lekki Development. Ibeju-Lekki is the newest development and is Fifty Kilometers from the city’s center. It borders the Lekki Lagoon in the North and faces the Atlantic Ocean in the South.

This area is fast developing and is offering unlimited opportunities to industrialists, investors, individuals, tourists and others.

Another great thing about this Ibeju-Lekki Zone is that it has easy access to places like Epe, Ajah and Victoria Island.

The Development will house the Lekki Free Trade Zone. The Master plan for the Lekki Free Trade Zone is aimed at developing and turning the Zone into a modern satellite city of Lagos with new Economic functions, urban service industries and real estate development as the pillar so as to promote the overall industrial development of the Zone. It will be a place where major infrastructural amenities and other facilities are located. When development has been completed, Lekki Free Trade Zone would be turned into a modern satellite town that will comprise of industries and also a city full of life, vibrancy and modernization. It will become a major driver for Nigerian Economic development and an example of the cooperation betweenkl China and Nigeria.

Some of the major infrastructures proposed for the area include the Lekki-Epe International Airport (150 km for the run way, 4.5 and 9km for the access and perimeter roads have all been cleared), Lekki Free Trade Zone, International Conference Center, Right of Way, etc. There are also areas marked for private estate developments, schools, hospitals, resorts, spas and many more. There would also be a bridge to link Ibeju-Lekki to other nearby towns and communities.

This is a call to investors, individuals, cooperatives, and the general public to invest in Ibeju-Lekki through Pazino ECC Garden Schemes while you still can because a few years from now, it will be the centre hub of Lagos and it would be terrible to look back and say “had I known…I wish.”
