Meet Photographer who Join Secret Cult in African just to get a Closer photo of their activities

In 2010, Photographer Vlad Sokhin gained rare access to the rituals and practice of the Nyau brotherhood, a secret society of the chewa people in the communities of Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi. He narrates how he infiltrate and ultimately join the cult. He said ...it all started out while he was still working for different companies where he covers event in pictures for them ..he had a job for one of the companies which is a coal exploration company, he was told to  photograph the opening ceremony of their new camp and while he was waiting for the ceremony to start  he saw someone popped out of the bush screaming "Nyau" and started running.

He had no idea what the word 'Nyau' meant so he started his research and that was how his interest for the cult began. First, he attended some of their ceremony as spectator then, got which made it hard for him to cover their event as he was not allowed to take photos. With time he met a teacher who confessed to him to that he was also a member of the cult. His interest made him and the teacher closer than ever and from their he got knowledge about the cult but was told that he will have to join the cult if he really wants a closer look at the cult happening.

He did got what he wanted after several refusal from the chief, he was later accepted and that was hoe he even came up with closer looks on the cult activities and the fascinating thing about him and his photos is the uniqueness which was what warranted me posting this on my blog ...hope you like it ? See his photos and work below!
